The Teaching School provides a high quality training program with a focus on the trainees developing excellent subject knowledge and a deep understanding of how pupils learn with the aim to become competent practitioners who are able to self-reflect on their practice ensuring it is of the highest standard.
At St. Elphege's we offer the trainees support in all areas of their learning, a student mentor and a student coordinator to oversee the training program.
Our very successful ten-year history of training GTP and RTP trainees meant that over the years, all trainee teachers have attained good or outstanding results in their training year whilst achieving QTS. All have secured employment either at this school or in other local schools.
The Teaching School works in partnership with e-Qualitas, an accredited teacher training provider to ensure that the ITT programme is successful and currently, there are three School Direct trainees based at our school.
